The company has contributed to increasing awareness about European, Latin American and Asian photo collections and archives through traveling exhibitions which combine artistic quality and historical relevance. Similarly, it has created a network for international work that includes curators, experts, collectors, conservators, publishers, museums and photographic archives. Canopia represented Aperture Foundation for years, and since 2012 it has been the cultural agent for Magnum Photos in Spain and Mexico.
Canopia is a company that was opened in 2001 with headquarters in both Madrid and Mexico City. It specializes in the creation and development of cultural projects, designing contents and creating digital cataloguing systems, as well as performing the organization, management, coordination and production of exhibitions, books, workshops, series and other events.
Canopia has organized more than 150 exhibitions, workshops, courses and other events in twenty countries in Europe and Latin America. For over ten years, it has been dedicated to the full management of cultural projects related with photography, images, the visual arts, literature, science, music and other disciplines.
